Our Family Home (House Tour)
You asked for it, so finally here it is! A virtual tour of our renovated 1915 character home. I’m always getting so many questions and compliments about our family home, so I thought I would quickly film a house tour so you could all have a sneak peak inside!
We bought our home in late 2014, a week after Charlie was born. The front part of the house is a 1915 character home, which was actually relocated to our block and renovated and extended on (by the previous owners). The house is a simple 4 x 1, and is very basic in terms of big square rooms, high ceilings, wooden floorboards, and open plan living at the back.
When we purchased the house, we didn’t have to do much to it other than a fresh coat of pain, some new blinds and security screens in the kids rooms, update the cupboard/mirror in the bathroom and put up a few shelves and photo frames. Nick and I aren’t handy on the tools at all, so doing a renovation ourselves is completely out of the question!
Our plan was to stay in the house for 5 years, and by that point we figured we would have outgrown the house and needed an extra bathroom for the kids as they got older and needed more privacy and space. So far we’ve been here for almost 3 years, and we’re still happy to stay for a few more years as we’ve expanded into using more of the living areas.
On the day of filming, I didn’t bother with a big clean of the house. This is the reality of how it usually looks day to day, and there is a big clue as to how I keep the house so clean in the video!
I hope you enjoyed this tour of our family home!
